As a run up to upcoming Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May this year, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president, J P Nadda is paying a one day visit to Jammu on January 7.
According to sources, Nadda is visiting one State of North India and two Union Territories to take the stock of preparedness for Lok Sabha elections and implementation of various schemes launched by Narendra Modi Government for welfare of public.
Sources said as BJP is eyeing 400+ seats in Lok Sabha elections this time with over 51 percent vote share in every State and Union Territory to bounce back to power at Centre for third consecutive term is making ground level preparations for the same.
Sources said, Nadda will hold day -long meeting with senior party functionaries, Core Group members, office bearers, Prabharis and district presidents as well as Morcha heads and their Prabharis. He will chalk out the strategy for launching a vigorous campaign in the UT to ensure party’s victory in more than two Parliamentary seats in J&K out of total five Lok Sabha seats.
Sources said besides, two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu region the party is seriously eyeing to increase its tally in the UT by targeting Anantnag- Poonch Lok Sabha seat this time. Sources said during the meeting Nadda will discuss all probabilities and poll strategy with UT leadership. He will also seek complete feedback from party leadership of the UT on the poll preparedness as well as stress on concentrating on those areas where the party could not farewell during last Lok Sabha elections, sources added.
